About Our “Cynical Trials”

As I started thinking about the best format for The Acne Resource’s acne product reviews, I had to face my own personal reality when it comes to this stuff.

And the fact is, in my experience, a lot of products don’t do everything they say they do. Or perhaps better said, I haven’t seen the results I wanted or expected.

Hence, I am “cynical.”

But I’m also an eternal optimist. I’m willing to keep trying. And that’s what these reviews are going to be about. Hence “trials.”

One week, one product. And one cynic’s opinion about just about everything about it. Not just “does it work when used as directed?” but “is using it as directed practical/feasible/possible”? That’s why it’s important to know a little about me as you’re reading.

Eventually, I hope we’ll have more reviewers than just me — ultimately, I hope we’ll have a whole battalion of “pink coat” experts trying multiple products every week. If you’re interested in helping others choose the best acne products, solely for the reward of a job well done and a minute expense account for product purchases, I’d love to hear from you.

In the meantime, I’m off to the drugstore to choose this week’s product,  so check back tomorrow for the update.
